Frequently Asked Questions (and Answers!)

What should we wear?
The majority of people come dressed business casual, however our focus is for you to come ready to encounter God. We have members who dress from coat and ties and nice Sunday dresses to blue jeans and t-shirts.

Is North River Church a part of a denomination?
Yes, we are a part of the Southern Baptist Convention, Alabama Baptist State Board of Missions, and the Tuscaloosa County Baptist Association.

How can I join North River Church?
To join NRC as a member requires three things.

     The first is salvation.

The second is baptism by immersion. Our belief in immersion in no way demeans or denounces any other previous baptismal experience you may have participated in at an earlier time. However many other denominations baptize for different emphasis and to be re-baptized by immersion simply allows you to identify with the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ. Baptism is not a means unto salvation but simply a sign of your love and obedience to Jesus.

The third is to complete our new member's class. The NRC new member's class gives every new member the opportunity to ask questions, understand the heart of the church, and plug into the life of the church.

Are there some good websites I can use to help me grow in my faith?
The web is becoming a great resource in personal discipleship. Listed below are just a few of our recommended sites.
